The Strathendrick Singers is an amateur choir of
some fifty singers, which draws its membership
from the villages in the valley of the River
Endrick. Members, in the main, come from
Balfron, Killearn, Drymen, Kippen and Aberfoyle.
Some even travel from Dunblane, Bearsden and
Milngavie to sing with us. We rehearse in Balfron
Church on Monday nights at 7.30. Our concerts
are usually in Killearn Kirk but in recent years we
have also performed in Kippen Church and
Glasgow Cathedral.
Our repertoire ranges from classical to light
music, traditional and Scottish. Recently our
repertoire has been extended to include music
from Polish, Russian, Estonian and Latvian composers.
We sing at least two concerts per year - one at Christmas time when we perform a mixture of
carols and sacred music and one in the Spring which is more classical in its repertoire. Often
we are asked to perform the Christmas carol concert in other churches.
Singing is a good way to switch off from everyday cares and joining a choir is a good way to
meet new people. New members are always welcome, especially tenors. If you are interested
in singing with us please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
